Safeguarding

At Holy Family, we believe that safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. We have a strong commitment to safeguard all of our children, ensuring their health, safety and well-being in all areas of our practice.
Safeguarding means:
"Safeguarding is the action that is taken to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm. Safeguarding means: protecting children from abuse and maltreatment, preventing harm to children's health or development, ensuring children grow up with the provision of safe and effective care." NSPCC
Child Protection means:
"Child protection is the process of protecting individual children identified as either suffering, or likely to suffer, significant harm as a result of abuse or neglect. It involves measures and structures designed to prevent and respond to abuse and neglect." NSPCC
Safeguarding and Child Protection are top priority at Holy Family Catholic Primary and Nursery School.

A written record of any concern will be kept on file and shared with other safeguarding professionals as necessary. Written records will be transferred to the children's new schools when they leave Holy Family School. Copies will NOT be kept on site.
